Anti Bribery

Melis values its reputation for ethical behaviour and for financial probity and reliability and has a zero tolerance policy towards bribery.  Melius prohibits the offering, the giving, the solicitation or the acceptance of any bribe, whether cash or other inducement, to or from any person or company, public or private, by any governors, staff, contractors, consultants, agents, overseas agents, external examiners and any non-employee service providers engaged on Company business for whatever reason, in order to gain any commercial, contractual or regulatory advantage for Melius in a way which is unethical or in order to gain any personal advantage, pecuniary or otherwise, for the individual or anyone connected with the individual.

Modern Slavery

Melius is committed to ensuring that it, its employees, directors, contractors and sub-contractors comply with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, as well as all other applicable laws in respect of slavery and human trafficking. This policy statement is to be construed as a transparency statement under Section 54 of the UK’s Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Melius, part of Opportunities Workshop Limited is headquartered in the UK, and the majority of its business is carried out in the UK. Melius will not accept slavery within its organisation nor within its supply chain.  Directors, staff and contractors are obliged to comply with anti-slavery and human trafficking legislation as part of our commitment to ensure legal compliance, with obligations set out in applicable handbooks and contracts with third parties. Melius operates a preferred supplier list for its key suppliers pursuant to which suppliers are obliged to confirm compliance with applicable laws, which include the Modern Slavery Act.  Melius also takes practical steps to ensure compliance with the Act, including identity checks in respect of all individuals wishing to provide services via Melius.

All Melius employees receive training on all staff policies which include all matters of conduct and fair employment practices. Staff are encouraged to seek guidance from managers or legal advisors if they have any concerns, and to report all incidents in a timely manner.

Safeguarding

Melius maintains procedures and practices which safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all its candidates and clients, by identifying and applying best practice within the sector and ensuring that our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures comply with legislative requirements and government recommendations.

Data

Melius is obliged as an organisation to protect the integrity and confidentiality of personal data held by us with regard to our clients and employees. We take a very serious view of our responsibilities to comply with the data protection principles.  All data responsibilities are fulfilled by Opportunties Workshop Limited.
